Methodology

Every specification on this site is stored in one of four states: confirmed with a source, genuinely unknown, structurally not applicable to that product (a corded model has no battery spec to report), or conflicted, when two sources disagree and we haven't picked a winner. We never fill a gap with a plausible guess — an unconfirmed spec is always labeled "Not verified" rather than left blank or defaulted to a value that looks like data.

Source hierarchy

We prioritize sources in this order:

• The manufacturer's own product page, for the US market where available.
• A retailer listing (currently Amazon) when the manufacturer doesn't publish a given spec — clearly labeled as a retailer source, not treated as equivalent to the manufacturer.
• Independent/secondary sources are used only to flag a contradiction, never to replace a primary source that already gave us an answer.

Confidence levels

Every sourced spec also carries a confidence level. "Confirmed" is reserved for a spec read directly from the primary page itself. "Estimated" means the figure comes from search-result text describing that page rather than a direct page read. "Unverified" marks a value we're keeping only as evidence of a discrepancy, not as something we're standing behind.

As of this catalog's current research pass, every sourced spec on this site is at "estimated" confidence — none has been verified by a direct fetch of the live page. This is a limitation of our current research tooling, not a claim that the data is unreliable; it means a further, direct-page verification pass is a planned improvement, not something we're presenting as already done.

When sources disagree

When we find a manufacturer spec and a retailer listing giving different numbers for the same product, we use the manufacturer's figure and keep the disagreeing listing visible on the product page as a flagged discrepancy — we don't average them, and we don't silently pick one without saying so.

What we don't track

We deliberately don't store or display prices, star ratings, review counts, or sales figures anywhere in our catalog. Those change too often for a static page to keep accurate, and mixing them with our verified specifications would blur the line between what we've confirmed and what we haven't.
